PhD Program

The PhD program at the Graduate School Digitality and Education (GSDE) offers an interdisciplinary framework for doctoral students from all disciplines who want to critically explore and actively shape the profound changes brought about by digitalization in teaching and knowledge transfer. In addition to technical areas such as the development of digital learning tools or the applications of artificial intelligence, the GSDE places particular emphasis on the cultural and social changes in the education sector triggered by the digital transformation. Topics such as digital collaboration, new role distributions in the teaching and learning process, ethical issues surrounding digitalization and the fundamental redesign of teaching and learning forms are at the center of the program. The aim is to closely link research and practice, learn digital teaching and research methods, and develop sustainable solutions for the education system. The program offers a wide range of opportunities for networking with each other and with experts from Switzerland and abroad. Members of the GSDE also have the opportunity to use the attractive BeLEARN Hub as a place for teaching, working, and researching.
